ANYFW- KIKO ROMEO

I'm still on African New York Fashion Week collections and this time I'll be focussing on another Kenyan brand that has been there for ages, the exquisite KIKO ROMEO. They also incorporated the Maasai shuka and I think she did a great job although I wish her collection was more vibrant with her color palette.I however loved the styling by mixing knits, wool and the Maasai fabric, it was brilliant! Anyway instead of talking too much about it, here are some of my favourite picks...

The last picture is the designer herself Ann McCreath....GO KENYA!

AFRICAN NEW YORK FASHION WEEK- BLACKBIRD DESIGNS

Blackbird designs has always been known as the underground fellas, they were just not given enough recognition as much in Kenya but hey dreams come true for some and Blackbird certainly achieved one of their dreams and that is to showcase internationally. They got the chance to showcase at New York last week and their designs took my breath away, I was so proud of what my buddies had accomplished and how creative and exquisite their collection was, check them out...

Love the pants..I would totally wear them. The vertical stripes would enhance my silohuette, just thinking out loud...

 I want this jacket.... #thatisall!
The puffed shoulders caught my eye in this ensemble...love!
This suit had to be my favourite of the mens' collection..I love how the color is vibrant and the suit fits just right!

My favourite piece of the ladies collection...love the mixture of patterns and colors, so haute!
Zeddy and Sidney the two designers behind Blackbird Designs....

The styling was well done I might add, not to shabby not to extra haute if you know what I mean.

I'm so proud of my two friends, they have finally achieved their dream and it only starts here, I'm sure they'll be more to come in the future.

I contributed in this issue when I did an interview with the Blackbird duo (who are in NYC as I write this showcasing their designs) and I'm proud to be a part of a team that is working to revolutionize the industry. You can read the whole interview and the whole issue here .

Good work Nancie and your team!

FAB STYLE

Apart from the shoes and the fashion show that I didn't attend, booo me! I met people who had style at the event. Here are some pictures....

The first picture is a friend of mine called Pat who works for an image consulting company. I loved her outfit because of the simplicity, it's not too casual and still makes an official statement since she was there for official purposes.

The second outfit is of a well known fashion blogger, Nancie Mwai and I loved her outfit too because it was out of the ordinary, the mixture of colours and patterns what was caught my eye in this one and I think she looks fabulous, don't you?

GOD BLESS!

FAB SHOES

Hey guys just trying to get back on my feet so forgive me if I'm not blogging much but like I said before I love doing this and I won't stop. So like two weeks ago I attended an Expo at Westgate but since it was doctor's orders that I stop blogging for a while and rest my eye I couldn't post them earlier. The exhibition stand that caught my eye was the RTW collection, they had fabulous shoes in various ranges of colour and I was awed.

I went to the shop itself the other day and they have more fabulous stuff there and at a cheaper price than they were at the Expo. I wish I took a picture of the Mary Jane for Loubitons nude heels they were glorious! I love the variety that the shop offered and I got a feeling that all my savings will be used up soon.

P.S The shop is located at Bustani Restaurant along Ole Dume Road if you want a variety.

GOD BLESS!

ALCOTT FINAL TAKE...

Apart from the stylistas there was the opening of the Alcott store. Their clothes are of the urban genre, if you are into that kind of thing then this is the store that offers that. I was lucky enough to be invited for the grand opening and was one of the few that actually entered the store and view their stuff. I took some pictures too....
